Grant Hure brings up 300

Ever popular Life Member Grant Hure fronts for his 300th appearance in Bulldog Colours this coming round - Round 5, 2011.

Grant is a very durable ruckman.
A couple of seasons ago, perhaps 2007 or thereabouts, he retired citing work and old age for his decision.
Excelling in AFL Masters he reversed his decision with a return to playing in 2010.
The fire to compete, and the 300 game target not that far off, swayed him to return.
The decision was a good one as Grant took out the 2010 Rosewater B Grade Best and Fairest in a canter.
Very popular with all at Bulldog Headquarters Grant reflects on his speed across the ground, his high marking, great ground work, and accurate goal shooting.
Alas many, or perhaps all, of these attributes, with the exception of the high marking, were of a previous decade!
Grant is active in club administration, running the AFL Masters, and assisting in Club administration.
He was club Secretary in 2000 and lead ruckman in the 2003 Premiership team.
A thoroughly deserved honour for one of Rosewater’s most respected players, both on and off the field.
Football supporters are requested to be at Rosewater at 12:15, Saturday 7 May, when Grant leads the B Grade onto the field.
There is a proviso in that Grant’s form is such he may be leading out the A Grade at 2.15!
And Grant achieved this distinction over the following decades........
Debut 1987
100th 1993 - 6 years
200th 1999 - 6 years
250th 2002 - 3 years
300th 2011 - 9 years (last 100 12 years......)
A bit tardy in the final 50
Such is life!
