Rosewater - Premiers

The Rosewater Football Club 8-Ball team, last night, won their Division 2 grand final in the Inner Port Adelaide 8-ball Association . After not defeating the "Dockside" all year and going down 5-1 in the 2nd semi the RFC were massive underdogs going into the Grand Final. But in true Rosewater spirit the mighty dogs beat the Dockside 5-2. Eli Cuellar led the way with a first up singles win with Patrick Bell going down in a close game, it looked like it was going to be a tight all night. Shane "Rookie" Hollit then made his opponent look second rate followed by Grant "Big G" Hure who punished his opponent after winning the toss to grab a singles berth after previous weeks of dismal form. Matt Morris was beaten by his opponent which was by far their best player but little did we know Matt would get his back later. Shaun "Lippo" lipson finished off the singles with a win which had us needing one more win in the doubles. Rookie and D-mac were first up in the doubles and were looking like going down until the umpire (Matt Morris) called a foul on their best player for taking too long. That was all Rookie needed to finish off the game and claim the GF. Unfortunately due to the emphatic win the last two doubles teams did not play and Chris "Dodge" Loader and Stef Kowal missed a berth in the GF after being solid contributors all year.
