Solid half back flanker in the A1 team of the mid seventies, made his A grade debut season in the 1972 A2 premiership year after coming through the junior grades.
Not renowned for his pace but earned a reputation for deliverying a crunching shirtfront, later gained the nickname Dessy after Des Tuddenham from Collingwood. Career cut short by numerous knee injuries and in 1978 was captain coach of the C grade winning the medal.
Led astray early in his career by Spider Watkins and continues to be mislead to this day.
